As much as I’d love to cover all of these artists I am just focusing on the headliners for a basic overview of who they are. If you interested in learning more about the other artists check out the WE Fest website, or start some research of your own on Google.
Luke Bryan:
Bryan (40) has been in the country music game since the mid-2000s. He has dealt with a lot of tragedy with 3 of his immediate family members passing. With his sister’s passing in 2007, then his brother-in-law in 2014, he and his wife took in their kids. This is what makes Luke Bryan an even better artist than what he already is; his realness and genuine personality. Although he has been criticized for his “bro-country” style on some songs, I believe all around he has a broad style of country where anyone can find a song they enjoy.
I have not seen Luke Bryan in concert before and I have been hoping for him to play at WE Fest for years, so I was super excited to hear he would be headlining this year.
Zac Brown Band:
The Zac Brown band actually consists of 8 members total; Zac (38) and his 7 bandmates. They have been around since 2004, but their first studio album The Foundation did not appear until 2008. The year of 2016 was huge for them, breaking records of all sorts, so I can’t imagine that 2017 will disappoint us, especially with their new album of Welcome Home on May 12.
Zac Brown Band played their first WE Fest at the 2014 festival. This was my first year of attendance and they were a spectacular headliner and have only had more success since then, so I know it will be amazing to see them headlining again.
Lady Antebellum:
This band consists of 3 members; Charles Kelly (35), Hillary Scott (30), and Dave Haywood (34). With their new album Heart Break coming out June 9 after being named “Vocal Group of the Year” for the third time in a row we can only expect the best to come at WE Fest this year.
I have not seen Lady Antebellum either, but I’m excited to see what they’ll do as headliners. As a group featuring both genders, this is uncommon for country, but they seem to have mastered this art.
The Music….
Now that you know a little bit about the headliners of WE Fest 2017 I have included a playlist of not only some great tunes from these people, but also at least one song from all of the other artists playing at WE Fest this year. This playlist runs 30 songs at an hour and 45 minutes, so it’s pretty much the ultimate playlist to get ready for the best week of the summer. It may even become the playlist you listen on the car ride up to Detroit Lakes.
Thank you for reading! Only 134 more days until the official start of WE Fest 🙂
