With just a few simple seasonings, you can create a mouthwatering air fryer pork loin roast in about an hour. It’s as easy as applying the rub and letting your air fryer do its magic.
The more I use my air fryer, the more I fall in love with it! It’s truly one of the best kitchen appliances I’ve ever owned. And when it comes to making a delicious pork loin roast, it’s the absolute perfect tool.
Use Pork Loin Roast 2lb – 2.5lbs
To start with, you’ll need a good top loin pork roast weighing around 2 – 2.5lbs. This size is suitable for most 5-6qt air fryers. Make sure to look for “pork loin roast” on the package, not “pork tenderloin.” While pork tenderloin is a fantastic cut of meat, it’s considerably smaller and requires different cooking temperatures and times. A pork loin roast is what boneless pork chops are cut from. It’s an awesome and simple dish that is perfect for a family dinner. Plus, it’s quite affordable too!
Best Damn Seasoning Rub
Creating the perfect rub for our pork loin roast only requires a few simple ingredients. The seasonings include brown sugar, ground mustard, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. This combination will yield about 3.5 tablespoons of rub. You can use almost all of it on your pork roast. If there’s any rub remaining, you can reserve it to make a quick gravy (see recipe notes below).
Air Fry for 45-55 minutes at 360°F
Now that your pork loin roast is all rubbed up with seasoning, it’s time to start the cooking process. Preheat the air fryer for 5 minutes at 360°F. Then, place the roast inside the air fryer with the fat cap side up. Set the air fryer to 360°F and cook for 45 minutes. Remember to turn the roast halfway through cooking. We’re aiming for an internal temperature of 145°F-160°F. Use an instant-read thermometer and check for a minimum internal temperature of 140°F. I recommend this temperature because the roast will continue to cook after removing it from the air fryer. If it hasn’t reached 140°F yet, let it cook for another 5-10 minutes.
Let it Rest!
Once the cooking time is complete, gently remove the roast from the air fryer and let it rest on a plate. Loosely cover it with foil and let it rest for at least 5 minutes. During this resting period, the roast will continue to cook, and the internal temperature will rise a few degrees.
What About Larger Sized Roasts?
When dealing with a pork loin roast larger than 2.5lbs, it’s essential to consider how well it fits in your air fryer. Avoid overcrowding and ensure the meat isn’t too close to the heating element. If you have a larger air fryer (above 5-6qt), you can accommodate larger roasts. In this case, increase the cooking time by approximately 20 minutes per pound and always check the internal temperature for doneness.
