Ah, “The Kissing Booth”! Netflix’s teenage romantic comedy with its captivating love story and even more captivating cast caused quite a stir when it premiered in May 2018. Based on the young adult novel of the same name by Beth Reekles, the movie follows the story of high school student Elle Evans (played by Joey King) who’s smitten with bad boy Noah Flynn (played by Jacob Elordi) – who also happens to be her best friend Lee Flynn’s (played by Joel Courtney) older brother. When a charity kissing booth forces Elle and Noah to kiss, what started as a desperate crush turns into a forbidden romance. And that’s just the first movie!
The third and final installment of the franchise premiered this Wednesday, and while critics haven’t been kind, the audience simply couldn’t get enough, making it one of Netflix’s most-watched movies. It was only fitting that the movie inspired two consecutive sequels, introducing new characters like charming Marco (Taylor Zakhar Perez) and flirtatious Chloe (Maisie Richardson-Sellers).
But while we’re obsessed with Noah, Elle, and Lee’s love stories, how are the actors faring in their real-life romances? Let’s meet their true partners.
Jacob Elordi and Kaia Gerber
With the success of “The Kissing Booth” movies and HBO’s “Euphoria,” Jacob Elordi certainly has a lot more eyes on him. But reports indicate that he’s also a hopeless romantic at heart. In 2020, he told Vanity Fair that his ideal date involves “a night in Paris with wine… all dressed up to the nines.” However, being a top-tier celebrity under constant scrutiny makes achieving his lofty goal quite challenging.
Although the Australian actor has been private about his romantic life since parting ways with Joey King, he hasn’t let that stop him from finding love again.
Elordi is currently dating model Kaia Gerber, who also happens to be the daughter of the famous supermodel Cindy Crawford. According to E!, the two started seeing each other sometime around September 2020, going on outings together in Los Angeles and New York City.
Eventually, Gerber shared impeccably executed Elvis and Priscilla Presley costume snapshots on Instagram, confirming their relationship. Although they keep things low-key, the paparazzi have had no trouble capturing adorable moments of this couple.
But don’t expect them to extensively discuss their relationship anytime soon. “When people look and talk about your relationship, it gets a bit difficult,” Elordi told Vanity Fair. So, we’ll respect their decision as much as possible.
Joey King and Steven Piet
After a heartbreak with Jacob Elordi, Joey King decided to keep love off the screen. Rumors about Joey and Steven Piet began when they were spotted together on multiple outings with Joey’s sisters. However, due to the complications of being in a public relationship, both have chosen to keep their romance private, especially after the scandal that occurred in their previous relationship.
Steven is from Chicago. He attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and, once he completed his degree, entered the production industry in his hometown, directing various projects, including music videos, commercials, and short films.
Joey and Steven worked together on Hulu’s series “The Act.” While Joey was the lead actress, Steven served as a co-producer and directed two episodes, including the finale.
Neither party has confirmed the relationship or posted about it on social media. In fact, Piet doesn’t have much presence on Twitter or Instagram. Unlike King’s previous relationship with Jacob Elordi, her co-star in “The Kissing Booth,” the actress undoubtedly wants to keep her current romance as private as possible.

While his character in the movie, Lee Flynn, seems to have some trouble with women, Joel Courtney is happily off the market. According to People, at 24 years old, Courtney married his “lifetime love” in September 2020: Mia Scholink, who was 23 at the time. While it may seem like “things moved very fast,” Courtney has known the entrepreneur his whole life. “Our parents knew each other before either of us were born,” Courtney told People. “When Mia and I were born, we spent three or four years running around in diapers and playing together.”
Although they lost touch, they “reconnected in 2015” and started dating two years later, briefly separating before getting back together in 2019. When the couple married in an outdoor ceremony in Phoenix, Arizona, the actor said he had never experienced so much joy as seeing his bride walk down the aisle. “My chin was shaking, and I had tears in my eyes,” he told People. “It was all I could do to keep them from falling down my face.”
