Worship Songs Celebrating the Gift of Grace

by Assessor

Grace, the unparalleled expression of God’s love, is a theme that resonates throughout the New Testament. It is the unearned, undeserved favor that God lavishes upon humanity, making the cross a powerful symbol of His boundless love. In the face of such grace, our hearts are naturally drawn to worship and gratitude.

If you think grace is something to be earned or that you must prove your worthiness, think again. It is a humbling experience to realize that we come to God with nothing to offer, yet He extends His mercy and kindness to us without measure. In His grace, God triumphs over judgment and grants us what we could never deserve. Let this truth inspire and ignite a spirit of worship within you.

Here, we present ten inspiring Christian songs that beautifully capture the essence of grace.

Hymns Celebrating Grace

1. “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing”

Robert Robinson, a spirited and wayward individual, had a life-altering encounter at the age of 17. Attending an evangelical meeting by George Whitefield as a source of amusement, Robinson found himself deeply moved and haunted by the message he heard that night. This encounter led to a three-year spiritual journey, culminating in his surrender to Christ at the age of 20.

Later, while preparing a sermon, Robinson penned the heartfelt words to “Come Thou Fount.” Originally consisting of five verses, the hymn has since been condensed to three. Asahel Nettleton composed the accompanying music.

Come, Thou Fount of every blessing,
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
Sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it,
Mount of Thy redeeming love.

Sorrowing I shall be in spirit,
Till released from flesh and sin,
Yet from what I do inherit,
Here Thy praises I’ll begin;
Here I raise my Ebenezer;
Here by Thy great help I’ve come;
And I hope, by Thy good pleasure,
Safely to arrive at home.
