These dragons can be found in stories written by early Irish and Welsh authors such as “Peredur” (Welsh) and “Culhwch and Olwen” (Welsh). In the case of China, the story “Journey to the West”, also known as Saiyuki in Japan, tells a tale about a monk who encounters the dragon. The association between these two cultures and dragons is actually quite fascinating, with some even makings connections between Chinese Zodiacs to the Western twelve signs of the zodiac.
