RODGERS HAMMERSTEIN“The Surrey With the Fringe On High” was written for the 1943 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical “Oklahoma.” First carried out by by Alfred Drake, Joan Roberts & Betty Garde, Miles Davis adopted it into his repertoire within the Fifties and plenty of others adopted.
