In Barcelona you can get goods for daily needs in smaller supermarkets around the clock. However, restaurants, shops and public facilities have their own opening times.
Shops in Barcelona
Opening hours are usually from 9:00 – 13:00/14:00, 16:30 – 20:00/22:00. Most of the stores are only open in the morning on Saturdays.Department stores are open non-stop until 20:00/22:00, even on Saturdays.Most shops are closed on Sundays and holidays. Little supermarkets that are smaller than 150 squaremetres don’t have a limitation of the opening hours. You can go shopping in those little stores during the night, on Sundays and holidays too.
On the four Sundays before Christmas all stores are open.
In some zones different regulations apply: in Marremagnum you can go shopping on Sundays and holidays too for example.The outlet La Rocka Village, located about 60 kilometres from Barcelona, is open every day as well.
Tourist information centres
Tourist infos are opened daily, except for December 25 and January 1. Opening hours are usually from 8:30 – 20:30.During the summer months a lot of little tourist infos in containers are opened in the whole city. However opening hours vary depending on the season.
Often closed on Sunday night and Mondays. Some restaurants close for 2-3 weeks in August.Restaurants used to be closed in the afternoon until late at night for dinner. They adapted to the needs of tourists and open their kitchens usually around 17:00.

Open from Monday to Friday from 9:00-14:00. The main post office, Plaça Antoni López is open on Mondays – Fridays 9:00 – 21:00 and on Saturdays from 9:00 – 14:00.
Stamps are also sold at tobacco shops.
Places of interest (Museums, buildings etc.)
Museums and other attractions in Barcelona are mostly closed on Monday. If the day off is a holiday it usually will be open. On December 25 and January 1 almost all museums and monuments are closed. Some of them are closed on January 6 as well.
