The developers of the Mozilla Firefox web browser regularly release updates to the browser that bring all the exciting new features. For example, the browser compiles a list of the most visited pages based on your activity. But what if you don’t want them to show up?
How to remove frequently visited pages in Firefox
Today we are going to see two types of visualization of your most visited pages: those that are shown as visual bookmarks when you create a new tab and when you right-click on the Firefox icon in the taskbar. Both types have their own way of removing links from pages.
Method 1: Minimize the “Top Sites” box
When users open a new tab, they see the sites they visit most often. A list of the web pages you access most frequently is generated while browsing in your browser. Removing these visual markers in this case is quite easy.
The easiest way to delete a selection of web pages without deleting anything is to click “The best places.”. All visual markers are collapsed and can be displayed at any time in the same way.
Method 2: Remove / Hide Sites from “Top Sites”
On its own, “Top Sites” is useful as it speeds up access to your favorite resources. However, you can’t always keep what you need there. For example, a site that you used to visit often at one point, but have now stopped. In this case, it is more correct to perform a selective erase. You can delete certain frequently visited sites like this:
- Hover your mouse cursor over the block with the site you want to remove, click the icon with three dots.
From the list, select Hide. o “Remove from history.” depending on your wishes.
This method is very useful if you need to quickly hide multiple sites:
- Hover over the right corner of the block “Top Sites”. for the button to appear. “Change”. and click on it.
- Now hover over the site to bring up the management tools and click on the cross. This doesn’t remove the site from your browsing history, but it hides it from the top of popular resources.
Method 3: Clear your visit history
A list of popular web pages is created based on the browsing log. It is registered in the browser and allows the user to see when and what sites they have visited. If you don’t need this history, you can just delete it and all the sites saved from the beginning will be deleted along with it.
