An Unforgettable Journey with Uncle T and His Arm Wrestling Adventures
If you’re someone who constantly pursues the American dream, like our beloved Uncle T, then chances are you’ve been commemorating the 30th anniversary of the iconic movie, Over the Top, throughout 2017.
The Undying Appeal of a 1987 Stallone Classic
In the realm of arm wrestling movies, none can compare to the raw power and sheer emotion of Over the Top. Despite being overshadowed by Stallone’s other blockbuster hits, this masterpiece never fails to captivate me. It ignites a fire within, coursing with diesel-fueled energy and sending shivers down my spine.
Hidden Gems Abound
Even if you didn’t expect a trucker movie with arm wrestling at its core to tug at your heartstrings, Over the Top holds a multitude of gems to cherish. From breathtaking American landscapes to an A++ soundtrack, shameless advertising placements, expertly crafted montages, and intense action, this film has it all!
A Grand Celebration at TNUC Lair
At Castle TNUC, we’ve been basking in the excitement of Over the Top‘s 30th birthday. Every week, we host screenings and coed-naked arm wrestling tournaments, graced by guest appearances from Cannon Films executives. And on weekends, just like our immortal idol Lincoln Hawk, we use nearby parked big rigs for our workout routines.
A Mystifying Connection?
As a devout Over the Top fan, there’s always been one thing that puzzled me. Am I the only one who noticed the striking resemblance between a certain big rig in the 1989 Fred Savage Nintendo-fest, The Wizard, and one from Over the Top?
Unraveling the Mystery
Wait a minute! Did Hawk Hauling really expand from a one-man show to a full-fledged enterprise in just two years? Or did “Spanky” the trucker, with his friendly nature, dare to steal Lincoln Hawk’s precious truck, hoping to secure a lifetime supply of Brut cologne while on the road to Video Armageddon? The latter seems highly unlikely.
The Truth Revealed
Thanks to the power of technology, we now have confirmation from multiple sources. Not only were there three “Hawk Hauling” model trucks used in Over the Top and The Wizard, but they all played a significant role in both films!
Take a moment to let that sink in. Now brace yourself for the most exciting news of the day.
A Rising Phoenix
After languishing on a Universal lot for more than a decade, these three trucks found themselves abandoned in a California scrapyard, baking under the ruthless sun. But one day, fate intervened. Two die-hard Over the Top enthusiasts journeyed across the country to purchase the last surviving truck. They then hauled this piece of history back to their home in West Virginia. (And here I thought I was the ultimate supporter of this film!)
A Labor of Love
Around seven years ago, Corey Ash, the new owner, embarked on a mesmerizing mission to restore Lincoln Hawk’s legendary big rig. His ultimate dream? To drive it to Vegas one day for the grand arm wrestling championship. Corey’s unwavering passion and eternal determination serve as a testament to the enduring power of Over the Top.
Corey, don’t forget to swing by the TNUC lair and pick us up during this triumphant quest. We’ll eagerly keep everyone updated on the progress of Hawk Hauling.
Happy 30th Anniversary, Over the Top!
To the film that continues to resonate with us, lifting our spirits and fueling our ambitions, we wish you a joyous 30th anniversary!
