Rocky Top Game Con: Rules of Play 2023

Rocky Top Game Con, brought to you by The Play Promoter LLC, aims to provide entertainment in an all-inclusive environment. Our goal is to offer board games, tabletop games, painting classes, and more, enriching the community through skill-based games that enhance social interactions and critical thinking. We also strive to support small and local businesses in the gaming industry. To ensure a safe and fair environment, our staff and volunteers abide by the following guidelines:

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide entertainment through an all-inclusive environment for playing board games, tabletop games, painting classes, and more. We aim to enrich the community by fostering social interactions and critical thinking. Additionally, we seek to support small and local businesses in the gaming industry.

Rules of Play

At Rocky Top Game Con, the safety of our guests and participants is our top priority. Entrance into the convention is granted by a limited, revocable license at the discretion of The Play Promoter LLC. All individuals may be subject to a safety search of their person and belongings upon entry. Decisions made by Rocky Top Game Con are final.

For the comfort and safety of everyone, certain items are prohibited at the convention, including animals (excluding service animals), coolers, drones, fireworks, outside food and beverages, arrow tips, pole arms or staffs with metal tips, professional or commercial cameras and recording equipment, sporting equipment, laser pointers, and outside alcohol or drugs.

Part 1: Decorum Policy

We value respect for individuals, as well as authority. Please follow the instructions of our staff, as their requests are intended to benefit everyone. Be considerate of vendors and refrain from disturbing them while they are assisting other customers. If a vendor closes their booth early, please respect their space. Please review the list of attending vendors before making a purchase and notify us of any concerns.

For attendees under the age of 13, a guardian must accompany them at all times. Only authorized vendors are permitted to sell Rocky Top Game Con merchandise.

Part 2: Anti-Discrimination Policy

Rocky Top Game Con promotes a diverse and inclusive gaming community. We have a zero tolerance policy for hate speech or organizations that perpetuate hate and violence. Any symbols of hate found on clothing, tattoos, jewelry, bags, miniatures, or any other visible item will result in removal from the event and may lead to a permanent ban from future events associated with CPPG, Rocky Top Game Con, or The Play Promoter LLC. Hate speech will also result in disciplinary action.

Part 3: Dress Code Policy

Costumes are encouraged and welcome at Rocky Top Game Con. However, costumes must be in good taste. All attendees must be properly attired and wear shoes at all times. Costume masks that cover the forehead to the nose are acceptable as long as the eyes are visible and vision is not impaired. The Play Promoter LLC reserves the right to refuse any weapon or costume weapon that is deemed inappropriate or unsafe.

Costumes may not display any hate symbols as defined in our anti-discrimination policy.

Part 4: Pets and Service Animals

With the exception of approved service animals, pets are not allowed at the convention and should never be left in parked vehicles. Service animal owners are responsible for providing food, water, and waste disposal for their animals. Service animals must be under their owner’s control at all times and on a leash or harness no longer than four feet. Owners must also ensure that their service animals are up to date with vaccinations.

Part 5: Media

Small personal cameras are permitted, but subject to inspection. Photos may be taken for personal use only. Video cameras and tripods are only allowed for pre-approved media workers with credentials. Commercial use of any media taken at Rocky Top Game Con without express written consent from The Play Promoter LLC is strictly prohibited.
